A defense contractor has sued the Maine Workers' Compensation Board for failing to adopt a fee schedule governing charges by hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers even though the state Legislature passed a law to mandate one nearly 14 years ago.
Bath Iron Works charges that it has been subject to "significant, expensive, vexatious" and "completely unnecessary" litigation as a result of the board's failure to adopt a fee schedule. The self-insured company is a subsidiary of General Dynamics Corp.
