The Derderian brothers, owners of The Station nightclub that burned to the ground in February killing 100, including 4 employees, have requested a stay order of the $1 million fine until their appeal has been heard. Jeffrey and Michael Derderian were fined by the Rhode Island Workers' Compensation Court for each day they lacked insurance. The total came to just over $1 million. That award was appealed to the appellate division of the WCC, which upheld the fine.
