La Jolla, CA, MD Surrenders License, Avoids Hearing

Facing a formal Accusation of wrongdoing by the Medical Board of California, La Jolla physician Douglas A. Simay, M.D. has agreed to surrender his license to practice medicine. The stipulated surrender of his medical license was ordered on January 14, 2004 and becomes effective January 21, 2004. The Medical Board accused Simay of being negligent in his care and treatment of at least six patients.
