Sierra Health Posts Net - Work Comp 'Discontinued'

Sierra Health Services Inc. (NYSE:SIE) reported yesterday that net income from continuing operations for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2002 was $12.2 million, or $0.39 per diluted share, compared to $5.6 million, or $0.19 per diluted share for the same period in 2001, an increase of 105% in earnings per share. For the quarter, discontinued operations had net losses of $7.7 million compared to $530,000 for the same period in 2001.
