A Bloomington, Minn., woman has been charged in Hennepin County District Court with one count of theft for allegedly collecting more than $9,180 in workers' compensation benefits she was not entitled to, the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) announced last week.
Mary Ruth Andrews, 55, received workers' compensation benefits from March through December 2000, based on her claim of a work-related injury to her arms. Andrews also complained of numbness in her fingers and stated she could not work.
Through investigation, it was discovered Andrews owned a newspaper delivery service....
