The Alliance of American Insurers, a leading member of the Coalition of Business and Insurance Industry, which has been working to reform the troubled Florida workers compensation system, has withdrawn its support for proposed legislation now pending in the state legislature. While the Coalition's proposal began with an estimated cost savings of up to 5 percent while doubling impairment benefits for injured workers, the bills currently in play would increase costs anywhere from 4-13 percent.
