Four work comp carriers have asked South Carolina insurance regulators for increases ranging from .2 percent to almost 16 percent.
Fairmont Insurance Co. seeks a 9.9 percent raise; TIG Premier Insurance Co. has asked for a 7.5 percent increase. Combined, the two carriers have a 1.62 percent share of the Couth Carolina market by premiums. They are subsidiaries of Irving, Texas-based Fairfax Financial, according to A.M. Best research and rating company.
Employers Insurance of Wausau, with a 1.03 percent of the market has requested a 15.9 percent rate increase.
