The city of San Diego's pension fund is $1.4 billion short of what it needs to pay its retirees and the city attorney has sued the same consultant that had a role in the poor investment results in an Ohio scandal.
The Toledo Blade reported Tuesday the California lawsuit against Callan Associates, which was fired last month by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation. The consultant was responsible for selecting investment advisers for the Ohio bureau.
