OSHA Distributes $10M in Safety, Training Grants

The magnitude of the 2-month-old recovery effort from Hurricane Katrina was reflected when the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) last week chose recipients for $10 million in annual training grants. OSHA earmarked $5 million for the Gulf states region and specifically for health and safety training for the thousands of workers in disaster response, cleanup and rebuilding activities.
