A Titusville, Fla., man whom state fraud investigators say lied about a 1999 injury to his lower back was jailed for collecting more than $180,000 in lost wages and medical benefits after claiming an injury to the same area in 2002.
Florida Department of Financial Services Division spokeswoman Nina Banister said Charles Bourget, 60, remained in the Brevard County, Fla., jail Thursday following his arrest earlier this week on two counts of employer fraud of workers' compensation.
Banister said the double charge raises the alleged crime to a first degree felony.
