A Kentucky judge ruled last week that a financially troubled workers' compensation insurance carrier may again start collecting assessments from its member companies to help plug a $58.5 million shortfall, the Associated Press reported.
Franklin County Circuit Judge William Graham ruled that AIK Comp's rehabilitator, Martin Koetters, may continue collection efforts on behalf of the company. Graham earlier had ordered collection efforts to cease after some AIK Comp member companies challenged their assessments.
