Alabama Starts Up Fraud Investigation Unit

The Birmingham Business Journal reports that the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations has formed a workers' compensation fraud investigation unit. Newly appointed DIR director, Phyllis Kennedy, the formed the unit to target employers, employees or insurance companies that may be breaking laws. Michael Meyer has been appointed by Kennedy to head up the fraud unit. Meyer will report to Scottie Spates, director of the workers' compensation division.
