Owners of Shell Companies Working to Obtain lower Premiums Arrested for Fraud

A massive fraud ring comprised of six people who created shell companies to conceal payroll amounts in order to get lower-priced workers’ compensation policies were arrested on Monday, according to Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater.  An investigation led by the Department of Financial Services’ Division of Insurance Fraud revealed that since September 2012, six companies – Alfa Construction, Burgos Construction, Ginel Construction, Rejevaz Services Inc. and PHH Construction – grossly deflated accurate payroll amounts by using check-cashing stores.
