The California Assembly on Friday approved amendments made to a bill that would create a presumption that MRSA skin infections are occupational for nurses and sent the bill to Gov. Jerry Brown for his approval.
The Assembly concurrence vote on AB 2616, by Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, came one day after the Senate voted 24-9 to pass the measure. A final and certified vote tally was not available Friday afternoon, but as of press time 47 out of 80 members of the Assembly voted to accept amendments made while the bill was in the Senate.
