Bill Would Add Comp Presumption For Hospital Workers

Nurses and hospitals are expected to square off today in Sacramento over a proposed bill that would add a rebuttable presumption about infectious diseases and neck and back injuries for workers' compensation claims.The Assembly Appropriations Committee is set this morning to discuss Assembly Bill 1884 by Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, which would apply to more than 350,000 nurses, nurses' aides, respiratory therapists and others providing patient care at acute care hospitals.
