Appeals Court Rejects Challenge to OSHA Fall Protection Directive

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has rejected a challenge by the National Roofing Contractors Association to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's December 2010 directive on the use of fall protection in residential construction, OSHA announced Thursday.OSHA said the directive replaced an earlier one which allowed some residential construction employers to bypass some fall protection requirements.David Michaels, assistant secretary of labor for OHSA, praised the court ruling for "upholding this updated, commonsense directive.
