By Greg Jones, Western Bureau ChiefThe number of carrier rate filings slowed in October as the industry awaits action from California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones on a recommended pure premium rate for policies beginning Jan. 1 that will take into account the potential impact of the reform bill passed this summer.As of Friday, the commissioner had not yet scheduled a hearing and the Insurance Department has no guess as to when the hearing will be held.Only two carriers filed revised pure premium rates so far this month, according to information on the Insurance Department’s website....
