Montana Gov. Steve Bullock recently appointed Galen Hollenbaugh to serve as commissioner of the Department of Labor & Industry.
Hollenbaugh was deputy commissioner of the department and served as acting commissioner from Sept. 8 until the promotion was made official Oct. 25.
He worked for the Labor Department since 2012 and has more than 20 years of state service, the department said in a statement. He also served four terms in the Montana House of Representatives.
Hollenbaugh received his bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s of public administration from the University of Montana.
