The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating a fatal accident that occurred at a raisin processing plant in Fresno County last week.
Yaneth Lopez Valladares, 33, was killed Friday morning while working for Del Rey Packing Co., according to a report by the area CBS affiliate.
A spokesman for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Valladares was clearing debris from a machine used to break up bunches of raisins at the time of the accident. Her clothing got caught on the equipment, causing it to strike her on the head.
The Sheriff’s Office said the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, commonly known as Cal/OSHA, is investigating and will have the final say about the cause of the accident.
