Members of the United Restaurants of New York Workers’ Compensation Safety Group No. 556 will receive a 30% dividend, plus a 25% advance discount on renewal, according to the Friedlander Group.
The firm that manages the group underwritten by the NYS Insurance Fund said in a statement that the dividend is in addition to the 25% group discount already received. Checks were mailed Tuesday.
"For a quarter of a century, restaurants in our safety group maximized their productivity and profits by keeping their employees safe and working. Restaurants have benefited from safety and over 47.5% savings on their workers' compensation," said Adam Friedlander, president and group manager.
In 1992, the Friedlander Group formed the first of seven workers' compensation safety groups for retailers, restaurants, wholesalers, hotels, oil dealers, and home health care and residential facilities.
