The Willig, Williams & Davidson law firm announced Monday that attorney Joseph D. Richardson has joined the firm's Philadelphia office to practice labor law.
Richardson for the past seven years has been a field attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in San Francisco and Philadelphia. He investigated unfair labor practice charges, and participated in administrative hearings and injunction proceedings in the U.S. District Court.
Richardson also represented his co-workers as a union local president and served as a pro bono arbitrator for denials of service at homeless shelters in San Francisco.
Richardson received a juris doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law, where he was an editor on the Administrative Law Review.
Before attending law school, Richardson served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he learned Arabic and was selected for an elite Marine reconnaissance unit, the law firm said. He participated in the Iraq invasion in 2003 and deployed to Afghanistan as a civilian in 2004 and 2007.
