Services will be held Friday for former state legislator and longtime claimants' attorney Fred Boettcher, who died this week at age 80.
Boettcher, founder of the firm Boettcher, Devinney, Ingle and Wicker, was known for his representation of injured workers since the 1970s, and for his philanthropic works in Oklahoma, according to a news report and his law firm's website.
Boettcher established a small law firm in Ponca City, in the heart of the Oklahoma oil refinery business, in 1968. By the 1980s, the practice had grown to 22 attorneys in three cities. He also served three terms as a state representative.
A requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ponca City, followed at 2 p.m. by a celebration of life at the Ponca City Schools Concert Hall.
