Athens Administrators, a recognized leader in third-party claims administration services has appointed Douglas Gibb as Executive Vice President, Workers’ Compensation.

Doug Gibb, Executive Vice President, Workers’ Compensation

Concord, CA – Athens Administrators has promoted Doug Gibb to Executive Vice President, Workers’ Compensation. Doug will be responsible for the oversite of all of Athens’ workers’ compensation claim administration operations, initially splitting time between Athens’ Orange County and Concord, CA locations then transitioning to full time at corporate headquarters in Concord.

With over fifteen years in the workers’ compensation industry, Mr. Gibb joined Athens in 2011 as a Unit Supervisor, a position he held for two years until he was promoted to Division Claim Manager. In this position, he was responsible for running the Orange office and under Gibb’s leadership, the Orange office has successfully managed many high-profile programs which include large, sophisticated private sector and public agency self-insured programs. Gibb has a proven track record delivering outstanding results to clients and creating an exceptional environment for his co-workers. Gibb received a Bachelor of Arts from Chapman University and a Master of Arts in History from California State University, Fullerton.

While Athens reviewed hundreds of resumes and have interviewed many outstanding candidates, it became clear that Gibb was supremely qualified in terms of his workers’ compensation knowledge, management experience and overall passion for the job. “I am excited that the position is being filled with an internal candidate and that Doug is already a part of the Athens family,” says James Jenkins, President of Athens Administrators. “He understands, embraces and perpetuates our unique corporate culture, which sets us apart from so many of our competitors. Doug has demonstrated a strong ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with his customers, while his institutional knowledge and enthusiasm will prepare him to immediately hit the ground running in his new role. I am incredibly excited about what Doug will bring to this position.”
