Workers' compensation is a simple idea - provide injured workers with immediate medical and compensation support in the event of a work injury without regard to fault - a privatized social system. Employers are relieved of costly, and perhaps disastrous civil claims and employees receive immediate relief.

What started out simple, though, has become exceptionally complex, to the point where workers' compensation was the first legal specialty recognized by the California State Bar Association. Today all 50 states have some form of workers' compensation program, as do most industrialized countries. The industry is huge, and the rules vary from state to state (and sometimes from county to county).

workcompcentral.com started in 1999 with a mission: get some of the complexity out of the workers' compensation system and provide a better, more efficient way for adversaries to communicate.

Incorporated 1/1/2000 as a California corporation, it is our business to provide accurate, timely and authoritative recitation of the law in an unprecedented easy to use manner; report news of industry events (and some non-industry events) which will have an impact on our daily workers' compensation lives; move the paperwork in workers' compensation litigation as efficiently and easily as possible to get people back to work faster and deliver benefits more quickly; educate not only those directly affected by workers' compensation (injured workers, claims professionals), but also those who aren't affected now, but may be in the future.

If you work, or if you have someone working for you, workers' compensation is a part of your life. You can't ignore it. We're here to help you deal with it.

Workcompcentral.com is made up of seasoned workers' compensation professionals and Internet veterans. We thank you for using our site to conduct your workers' compensation business. We will continue to grow and expand site services and have aggressive plans for automating much of the workers' compensation industry. If there is a feature that you think would benefit the industry please let us know.
