What People Are Saying
"Sullivan on Comp" is the most definitive work available on
California workers' compensation. I cannot say enough about
how much people in our firm love the books and how often
they consult them. "Sullivan on Comp" is the first place I
turn to research a case. Congratulations, Mike, you've
really nailed it — an impressive work and required reading
in anyone's WC library.
Richard M. "Jake" Jacobsmeyer, Partner with Shaw,
Jacobsmeyer, Crain, Claffey & Nix LLP
This treatise is the most up-to-date and thorough resource
out there for new attorneys and seasoned veterans alike.
The information is concise, meaningful and easy to follow.
I cannot imagine a practitioner in the field of workers'
compensation not having a copy of this book.
Adam Dombchik, Partner with Gordon, Edelstein, Krepack,
Grant, Felton & Goldstein
"Sullivan on Comp" is a highly readable treatise that is
comprehensive and detailed.
"Sullivan on Comp" is an invaluable resource that should be
part of any workers' compensation practitioner's library.
Saul Allweiss, Principal of the Law Offices of Saul Walter
Allweiss
"Sullivan on Comp" is a valuable analysis of California's
worker's compensation system. It provides enough depth to
satisfy the needs of front-line practitioners, but is
accessible to a company's general counsel, risk manager or
human resources professional. It communicates a clear
understanding of the statutes and regulations, as well as
the related case law. I keep a copy close by.
Tim East, Director of Risk Management with The Walt Disney
Company
Michael W. Sullivan
Mr. Sullivan is an experienced attorney in the fields of workers'
compensation and insurance fraud litigation. He completed his Juris
Doctorate at University of California, Hastings College of the Law and
obtained his Bachelor of Arts at Loyola Marymount University. While
attending Hastings, he garnered a competitive internship with the
Department of Industrial Relations. After graduation, Mr. Sullivan was an
Associate at the law firm of Gilbert, Kelly, Crowley & Jennett. While
there, he specialized in insurance fraud litigation and workers'
compensation.
In 1996, Mr. Sullivan decided to start his own firm to offer a more
responsive client relationship while maintaining high quality legal work.
This approach has yielded a successful, growing firm that continues to win
over new clients and keep existing clients happy.
Mr. Sullivan has written and lectured exclusively on the subject of
workers’ compensation and completed in January 2011, “Sullivan on Comp”, a
workers’ compensation treatise. The treatise is a 12 volume, 16 chapter
complete body of California workers’ compensation law set in bound print
edition plus the content is hosted as an online subscription at
WorkCompCentral.
