Sixth School District Employee Faces Fraud Charges

A substitute teacher for the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District surrendered to authorities on Tuesday and was released pending trial for five workers' compensation insurance fraud charges, Intercare Holdings Insurance Services said.Alicia Becerra Ramirez is the sixth employee of the Southern California school district to be charged with workers' compensation fraud since 2011.According to Intercare, Ramirez filed a claim alleging she had attempted to sit down on a chair when the chair tipped forward, causing her to fall on the floor.
