WCC Approves Tying Air Ambulance Reimbursement to Medicare Rates

The South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission has approved a change to its medical fee schedule that limits reimbursements for air and ground ambulances.  Starting Sept. 1, carriers and self-insureds will pay for ambulance services at the rates set in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services' fee schedule.  Commissioners approved several other changes to the fee schedule on Monday as well.
