Worker Accused of Malingering Charged With Fraud

A worker who said he was not getting better after injuring his back and hip was charged with fraud after a qualified medical evaluator opined that the man misrepresented the extent of his injury, the California Department of Insurance announced. Fernando T. Garcia, 46, said he was injured when he slipped while working in a trench to repair a water line in July 2018.
