The Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed penalties of $49,000 against the owner of a Hawaii hotel after investigators discovered 14 serious violations as part of a routine inspection.Federal safety officials fined Halekulani Corp., the owner of Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki Beach for violations that included not providing personal protective equipment, failure to follow proper fire extinguisher maintenance and inspection and a lack of electrical safe work practices.
