Amendments Seek to Clarify Conditions for Suspending Providers, Staying Liens

The head of the California Assembly Insurance Committee wants to eliminate any doubt as to whether lawmakers intended to require the suspension of executives such as former Pacific Hospital of Long Beach owner Michael D. Drobot following a conviction for certain crimes. Assemblyman Tom Daly, D-Anaheim, on Thursday amended Assembly Bill 1422 to also clarify the mandatory lien stay while criminal charges are pending applies to entities as well as individual providers.
