The West Virginia Supreme Court ruled that a grocery store employee's symptoms of pain could not be identified as compensable conditions, but it otherwise affirmed an award for her injuries from a fall. Case: Kroger Limited Partnership v. Winters, No. 18-0447, 11/02/2018, published. Facts: Debbie Winters worked at a Kroger grocery store. She suffered injuries in a workplace fall on Sept. 13, 2016. Doctors diagnosed her with an open wound of the left hand, and back sprain/strain. Winters attempted to return to work on Sept. 25 but left after three hours because of pain in her elbow...
