A Southern California labor contractor who pleaded guilty to fraud charges in March was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 24 months of felony probation, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Robert Z. Delara, 50, pleaded guilty to an insurance fraud charge and admitted a special allegation of stealing more than $100,000. Delara is the owner-operator of two farm labor companies.
He admitted to discouraging injured workers from obtaining medical treatment. He also admitted to concealing injuries from carriers to lower his insurance premiums, prosecutors said.
