The owner of a New York contracting and construction company was sentenced to state prison for his role in a multimillion-dollar work comp fraud scheme.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced that Sadaf Bhatti, 40, was sentenced to one to three years in prison. His company, Anaar Construction and Contracting Corp., was sentenced to a three-year conditional discharge.
Bhatti used convicted accountant Steven Lyon to complete premium audits for his company. Lyon also represented the contracting company during mandatory annual audits by the New York State Insurance Fund.
