URAC Purchasing ClearHealth Accreditation Programs

National utilization review accreditation organization URAC announced that it entered an agreement to purchase programs of health care accreditation firm ClearHealth Quality Institute.

URAC said in a statement that it acquired three innovative accreditation programs addressing telehealth, remote patient monitoring and mental health and substance use disorders.

“The acquisition of CHQI's programs expands URAC’s portfolio of accreditation programs to address two areas that are critical to the future of America’s delivery system: the use of technology and access to behavioral health services,” URAC President and CEO Dr. Shawn Griffin said in a statement.

URAC, formerly known as the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission, is the designated accreditation agency for work comp utilization review programs in states including California, Illinois, New York and Ohio.
