New York’s highest court ruled that unaccrued portions of a nonschedule award do not pass to the beneficiaries of injured employees who die from causes unrelated to the work injury. Case: Matter of Green v. Dutchess County BOCES, No. 78, 10/27/2022, published. Facts: Eric Watson sustained an injury in a work-related accident and was classified as having a nonschedule permanent partial disability.
