TDI Issues Bulletin on Cybersecurity Incident Reporting

The Texas Department of Insurance issued Commissioner’s Bulletin #B-0009-23 reminding insurance companies that the regulatory agency takes seriously cybersecurity incidents that may affect consumers or the industry. The Tuesday bulletin said Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 521 requires businesses to protect sensitive personal information and provides some definitions of the kind of information about which the department is concerned.
