Democratic House Speaker Michael Madigan called representatives to a special meeting on Thursday to hear how Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner’s proposed overhaul of the state’s workers’ compensation laws will affect injured workers. Workers with previous on-the-job injuries and medical professionals spoke with legislators at a committee of the whole hearing.
