Plastics Manufacturer Fined $50,000 for Failing to Abate Safety Hazards

A Mississippi plastic manufacturer faces $50,000 in penalties by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration for failing to correct workplace hazards that the agency first identified in May 2014. OSHA said it initiated a follow-up inspection of the Suburban Plastics Co. plant in Grenada, Mississippi, on Jan. 6 and issued four safety and health citations, including one failure-to-abate, two repeated and one serious, to the employer.
