A Texas-style workers’ comp drug formulary might have saved the Louisiana state government as much as $2.3 million on prescription drug costs for injured state workers over 18 months, according to a report released Tuesday.
The report by the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute was requested by the Office of Risk Management in the Louisiana Division of Administration. It comes as at least one lawmaker plans to try again to pass a workers’ comp formulary bill in the Louisiana Legislature.
