Rule Update Would Allow Appeals of NCCI Classifications

The Oklahoma Insurance Department is proposing final adoption of a rule that will allow employers to appeal disputes over the rating classifications assigned to them by the National Council on Compensation Insurance to the insurance commissioner. The proposed Rule 365:15-1-24 would allow employers to appeal decisions by the NCCI Oklahoma Internal Review Panel to the insurance commissioner by requesting in writing a hearing within 30 days of the date the panel issues a decision.The rule change would require the commissioner to either schedule a hearing within 30 days of receiving the request or...
