More than 10% of claims filed in 2020 were for COVID-19, the California Workers’ Compensation Institute reported.
CWCI said the 41,861 claims for COVID-19 filed as of Sept. 21 account for 11.2% of all work comp claims filed in the current accident year. The COVID-19 claims include 224 deaths, up from 160 reported as of Aug. 10.
