Texas Mutual Insurance Co. has awarded four Texas colleges a combined $400,000 in grants to fund free workplace safety courses, Texas Mutual announced in a release.
The grants went to Kilgore College, Midland College, College of the Mainland in Texas City and Del Mare College in Corpus Christi, according to the release. The safety courses are offered through the colleges’ risk management institutes. The courses include general topics, such as ergonomic safety, but also courses tailored to the dominant industries in the areas where each college is located.
