An Ohio woman who was caught working as a substitute teacher while drawing workers' compensation benefits will serve five years of community control after pleading guilty to one count of workers' compensation fraud, a fifth-degree felony, the state Bureau of Workers' Compensation announced.
Brecia Whitten of South Euclid was sentenced Feb. 10 in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas to eight years in prison, but the prison term was suspended on the condition that she pay $9,035.41 in restitution, the BWC said.
