A group of 18 Democratic state lawmakers in Oregon introduced a bill that would rewrite substantial sections of the state’s workers’ compensation law to require employers to quickly approve or deny care, improve notices to injured workers and bar reductions in permanent disability awards due to pre-existing conditions.
House Bill 3022 would rewrite 20 specific statutes in the workers’ compensation law. The authors are seeking passage of the bill as an emergency, which means it would take effect immediately after being signed into law.
