A Rhode Island lawmaker introduced a bill that would prohibit employers and their agents from taking adverse action against an employee who exercised a right relating to a workers’ compensation claim.
House Bill 7173, by Rep. Enrique Sanchez, D-Providence, would prohibit employers from firing or refusing to hire someone who exercised a right or testified or otherwise cooperated with an inquiry into a workplace injury, unless the employee knowingly participated in a fraudulent proceeding.
