The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited car dealership Carl Cannon Inc. after a flash fire killed three employees and injured two others at its facility in Jasper, Alabama.
Proposed penalties total $152,099.
OSHA investigators determined that the employees were using a flammable brake wash to scrub the service pit floor when the fire occurred on June 12. As a result, three employees were fatally injured, and a fourth was critically burned. A fifth employee was treated for smoke inhalation and released.
