DWC Appoints New Deputy Commissioner for Compliance, Investigations

Texas Workers' Compensation Commissioner Jeff Nelson on Friday announced the appointment of Dan LaBruyere as the new deputy commissioner for compliance and investigations. LaBruyere will head up audits and investigations, enforcement and the fraud prosecution unit. He succeeds Debra Knight, who left the DWC in August to become the state fire marshal. Before joining the division, LaBruyere worked for the criminal district court in Travis County from October 2021 to October 2023.
