Honolulu Food Warehouse Gives up Fight on 2-Year-Old OSHA Penalties for blocked Exits

After two years of litigation, a Honolulu food refrigeration warehouse has given up its fight against U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and has agreed to pay $197,000 in penalties for code violations related to a 2013 inspection. In February 2013, OSHA inspectors allegedly found 63 health and safety violations at the Unicold Corp. warehouse near Honolulu International Airport. The inspectors originally charged Unicold and its tenants in the warehouse $251,330 in fines, then tacked on another $89,265 for a total of $340,595. Unicold itself faced $196,700 of the fines.
