SANTA ANA, Calif. − Former Pacific Hospital of Long Beach owner Michael D. Drobot pleaded guilty to two felony charges related to his admitted role in a scheme to bilk California's workers' compensation insurance carriers out of millions of dollars by having them overpay for spinal surgeries and bribing a state senator to influence legislation to protect his long-running health care fraud scheme. Drobot, 69, faces up to 10 years imprisonment when he appears before U.S. District Court Judge Josephine Staton for sentencing in December.His sentencing date is set for Dec. 12 at ...
