Ohio law enforcement agencies will be able to purchase new and additional bullet-proof vests, thanks to another $500,000 from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
The bureau announced the latest grants this week, part of a program that Gov. Mike DeWine asked the bureau to expand last year, while he was attorney general. Dewine said last July that the BWC, known for its large financial surplus and generous rebates to employers, should funnel another $6 million to Ohio law enforcement agencies for body armor.
